Daughter of Medusa - Gorgon But Not Forgotten

With Halloween on the way at the end of this month, I thought I'd try to release (well, I thought i'd prod my ever-helpful ex to help release!) two Halloween-ready pieces of art I created a while back.

Getting two art pieces (plus Scorpio later this month) properly scanned, cleaned, and set-up for printing in time is a bit of a scary prospect - so it fits in perfectly for Haloween! :)

Medusa had a daughter?

Who knows!? But in the mythical world of my mind, she certainly did - and here she is. Really enjoyed this one, what with creating and overlapping all the snakes for her hair - it was great fun!

The background is a wash of black ink, designed to dry and leave a slightly textured feel. That darkness helps bring out both the snakes - covered with a combination of "i'm poisonous!" reds, golds, and oranges...

And of course helping to emphasise my young gorgon's white skin and striking red outfit...

The blackness of the underworld also helps signify that this mythical creature is one to be extremely wary of - just in case her lethal hair-do and petrifying stare don't make that clear!

Medusa is now proudly parading in my product store, available in a variety of options, with a new-release discount too!...
